How long do refunds take at UMD? ›

These refunds are typically processed within 14 days, but always within the term in which the credit appeared. Students will be refunded via direct deposit, if enrolled, or mailed paper check if not.

After a Direct Deposit refund has been issued, the funds should arrive within 1-2 business days. If a student does not have Direct Deposit set up, they can expect to receive their refund via paper check within 7-10 business days for domestic addresses.

Confirming Your Enrollment

This nonrefundable, $400 deposit will reserve your place in the incoming class and will be applied to your tuition. It may take up to two business days for your confirmation to be processed.

The University Agency Code (UMCP – 360222) and your last pay check/advice number will be necessary to create an account if you do not have an account.

Many different factors can affect the timing of your refund after we receive your return. Even though we issue most refunds in less than 21 days, it's possible your refund may take longer.

Credit card refunds usually take between three and seven days, but this can vary depending on the merchant, the billing cycle and your credit card provider. How does UMD notify acceptance? ›

If you are offered admission to the University of Maryland (UMD), you will also receive a general welcome letter from our office in the mail a few days later. Unlike the virtual letter, this hard copy will not include your major or university identification number (UID).

Paper returns take approximately 30 days to process. Keep in mind that acknowledgment of the receipt of your return takes place when your return has processed and appears in our computer system. Typically, a refund can also be delayed when the return contains: Math errors.

The time that it takes to receive your student loan refund check may also depend on the educational institution that you attend. It may be a slower process if you are going to school at a community college. They handle a large number of financial aid forms for students who are in attendance.
